The metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince woke up under tension on Monday, February 5th, 2024. Early this morning, bursts of automatic gunfire were heard, especially in Lalue, Bel-Air, Nazon, Solino, etc. Public transportation operated at a slow pace. Both formal and informal activities were running at half speed. Schools remained closed.
