Analyzing Budgets: HNP, FAD’H, and the Dominican Republic's Defense Forces

In just over a decade, the budget of the PNH has seen an increase of over 425%. However, with 90% of the budget allocated to operations and only 10% to investments, both the HNP and the FAD’H face the dilemma of effective budget distribution amid dependence on international partners—generous in promises but slow in disbursements. This challenge comes at a time when gang-related violence has resulted in over 5,000 deaths in 2023.
