The Haitian National Police (PNH) dispersed a protest by residents of Carrefour-Feuilles using tear gas on Monday, August 14th. This area has endured frequent armed attacks by the Grand-Ravine gang for several months. On Sunday evening, intense gunfire erupted from clashes between police officers and criminals, causing significant tension. Many residents were forced to flee their homes. A witness contacted by Le Nouvelliste reported loss of life and property, with houses set ablaze and gunshot injuries reported.
