5,000 Haitians in Chile

In 2009, there were only 200. Today, the number of Haitians living in Chile is around 5,000. Many of them went in search of better living conditions. However, their goal has not yet been achieved. Besides the difficulties they face in a foreign land, immigrants are often victims of extortion by immigration agents at the Toussaint Louverture Airport when they travel. And that's not all.
