At least 25 people lost their lives on Saturday, April 11, 2026, during a festive activity at the Citadelle Henri, located in the heights of the commune of Milot, following a crowd surge. This toll, updated and revised downward, was confirmed by the mayor of Milot, Wesner Joseph, in an interview with Le Nouvelliste.
