Weather Alert Issued for Five Departments

The passage of the 38th tropical wave of the season, formerly named Dolly, is expected to continue bringing heavy rain and thunderstorms to several regions of Haiti. Five departments have been placed under a yellow alert because of the risks of flooding, flash floods and landslides.

Thunderstorms are expected in parts of the country on Monday and Tuesday. According to weather forecasts, rainfall totals could reach between 50 and 80 millimeters in three hours, and even 100 millimeters in six hours in some areas. The rainfall could also
