The country experienced another failed attempt this Wednesday by several members of the CPT to remove the Prime Minister, about two weeks before the end of their mandate. Alix Didier Fils-Aimé narrowly escaped dismissal, as the resolution formalizing his removal had already been signed by five members of the Presidential Council. “Presidential adviser Smith Augustin withdrew his signature after having endorsed the resolution,” a source close to the CPT told Le Nouvelliste.
