After having tried in vain to change the date of the first round of elections set for August 30, 2026 by the Provisional Electoral Council, the Presidential Transition Council finally adopted the electoral decree on Monday, December 1st, in the Council of Ministers. This will allow the document to be published in the country’s official gazette and the electoral calendar to officially come into effect.
