CNHRR Members Formally Take Office

The Haitian National Committee for Reparations and Restitution (CNHRR) was officially installed in its functions during a ceremony held at the Villa d’Accueil on Monday, September 8, 2025. The event took place in the presence of members of the Transitional Presidential Council (CPT) and officials from the State University of Haiti (UEH).

Appointed by presidential decree on August 5, 2025, the CNHRR is tasked, among other missions, with conducting studies and investigations to complete and strengthen the case relating to reparations and the restitution of the independence ransom. It is also responsible for undertaking the necessary steps to finalize the calculation of the amounts to be claimed, taking into account their present value.
