Japan Donates 32 Vehicles to Haitian National Police

The Haitian National Police (PNH) received 32 vehicles, including 24 patrol vehicles and eight ambulances, from the Embassy of Japan in Haiti through the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) during a ceremony held at the PNH General Directorate (DGPNH) on Saturday, August 2, 2025. The official handover of this new batch of equipment took place in the presence of Inspector General and Chief of Staff of the DGPNH, Joseph Smith Peyo, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Japanese Embassy in Haiti, Mrs. Haruki Furusho, and the UNDP Resident Representative in Haiti, Xavier Michon.

This donation is the result of a partnership between the Japanese Embassy in Haiti and UNDP aimed at strengthening the operational capacities of the PNH, improving the mobility of its specialized units and intervention brigades in the field, and supporting emergency interventions, particularly in first aid and medical transportation.
