Rutshelle Guillaume: Rising Above in a Male-Dominated Industry

Born into a Christian family with a pastor father, Rutshelle Guillaume needs no introduction in the Haitian music scene. Immersed in music from a young age, she grew up imitating gospel stars. After being admitted to the École Normale Supérieure, her encounter with Dieuvenson Bon led her to explore other musical styles and propelled her to the top. Now an undisputed star of Haitian music and lead vocalist of RG Band, Rutshelle Guillaume shared that her entry into the Haitian music industry was riddled with obstacles: discrimination, hateful remarks, and rumors. She overcame them all.

After a successful solo career, Rutshelle Guillaume launched RG Band, a group where she takes center stage as the lead singer, performing compas tracks.
