Indicted CPT Members Ignore Court Appearance Order

Charged in the BNC 100 million corruption scandal, counselors Louis Gérald Gilles, Emmanuel Vertilaire, and Smith Augustin refused to comply with the summons issued by the investigating judge. Summoned on the 9th, 10th, and 11th respectively to appear before Magistrate Benjamin Félismé, these members of the Transitional Presidential Council (CPT) now risk being the subject of arrest warrants.

Officially, the Transitional Presidential Council has yet to make a statement regarding the "charged" status of three of its members. Despite pressure from both national and international stakeholders, the CPT members remain united. Louis Gérald Gilles, Emmanuel Vertilaire, and Smith Augustin continue to function alongside the other six members of the Council almost normally.
