Post-Letter Feud, CPT and PM Engage in a Contest of Visits and Meetings

While criminal groups continue to devastate Haitian families, particularly in Port-au-Prince and the Artibonite department, the Prime Minister's Office and the Presidential Council appear to be playing politics. Following a back-and-forth of letters between Garry Conille and Leslie Voltaire, the two heads of the executive are now engaging in a competition of visits and meetings with security forces. Within less than 24 hours, both members of the two-headed executive visited the headquarters of the Haitian Armed Forces (FAd'H).

The President of the Transitional Presidential Council (CPT) and the Prime Minister continue to publicly display their differences. Divided on various issues, including the proposed government reshuffle, Leslie Voltaire and Garry Conille are laying bare the dysfunction of the transition. On Sunday, October 20, the Prime Minister visited the Haitian Armed Forces' headquarters. Less than 20 hours later, the President of the CPT also made his own visit to the same location.
