Four days after the publication of the Anti-Corruption Unit (ULCC) investigation report regarding allegations of solicitation of one hundred million gourdes (100,000,000.00) by three members of the Transitional Presidential Council (CPT), the president of the CPT, Edgard Leblanc Fils, stated that the council cannot ignore this document, which recommends initiating legal action against the three advisors for passive corruption. "The CPT must take a clear position," said President Leblanc in a late-night address to the nation on Sunday, October 6, 2024.

Edgard Leblanc Fils is stepping down from the CPT after eight out of nine advisors signed a resolution to amend the council’s rotating presidency. Leblanc, who held the presidency first and had long preached unity within the CPT, transformed into a prophet of doom on the final day of his term.

"In its majority, the Transitional Presidential Council is on the wrong path. This path risks plunging us into instability and worsening the situation in the country, prolonging the transition period. It’s a shame,"
