CARICOM Aims to Address Corruption Claims Against Three TPC Members

As the Presidential Council remains deafeningly silent on the scandal involving corruption accusations against three of its members, CARICOM, which played a significant role in the establishment of the Transitional Presidential Council (TPC), is seeking to clarify the matter. Members of the CARICOM Eminent Persons Group met separately on Tuesday via Zoom with representatives from the sectors that appointed Louis Gérald Gilles, Smith Augustin, and Emmanuel Vertilaire to the TPC.

The corruption allegations against presidential advisors are causing embarrassment for CARICOM, the primary supporter of the Transitional Presidential Council.
