ECW Grants 2.5 Million Dollars to Education in Haiti

Yasmine Sherif, Executive Director of the United Nations’ Education Cannot Wait (ECW) program, recently visited Haiti to assess the educational situation in the country, which is experiencing a profound crisis. Before her return to the United States on Friday, July 26, she gave an interview to Le Nouvelliste to discuss her visit.

In the interview, Yasmine Sherif stated that she made this visit to understand firsthand the challenges faced by Haitian children in education, within a context marked by gang violence and climate change, among other issues. “We came to see the situation on the ground and to understand what is happening in terms of education in the extreme crisis that Haiti is going through,” she explained.
