On Sunday, June 2, 2024, newly appointed Prime Minister Garry Conille, accompanied by the Director General of the Haitian National Police (PNH), Frantz Elbé, made a visit to downtown Port-au-Prince, marking a rare initiative in the face of insecurity plaguing the capital since February 29.

Travelling in armored vehicles and escorted by specialized PNH agents, the two officials toured several sensitive areas, including the streets of Casernes, St-Honoré, and the displaced camp at the Lycée des Jeunes Filles.
