February 7 has passed. As often is the case, announcements were not followed by action. Prime Minister Ariel Henry remains in his position, political dialogue has not budged an inch, and the escalation of violence confirms itself across the country with its toll of victims and beheadings.

Protests, looting, fires, and deaths have multiplied over the past two weeks, culminating on February 7 with the death of five agents of the Protected Areas Security Brigade (BSAP).
