SHAA Awards Kéthia Althémany Sorel Prize to Alerte Pierre

Alerte Pierre has been awarded the Kéthia Althémany Sorel Prize by the Haitian Society for the Aid to the Blind (SHAA), recognizing the best visually impaired student of the academic year. The award ceremony took place at the SHAA premises in Delmas 31 on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, in the presence of SHAA leaders and an audience comprising journalists and institution executives.

The SHAA honored Alerte Pierre with the Kéthia Althémany Sorel Prize for successfully completing the Secondary IV exams during the regular session. The award, as informed by SHAA leaders, has been presented for 18 years by the integrated education service of the SHAA, which collaborates with visually impaired individuals across the country. Eddy Lemaire, head of the educational section at SHAA, stated, "The Kéthia Althémany Sorel Prize rewards the best visually impaired student of the academic year."
