Haitian National Police Still Struggling to Regain Control of Mariani

Despite the presence of armored vehicles and several specialized units, the Haitian National Police is struggling to regain control of Mariani, located between the municipalities of Carrefour and Gressier. Invaded by criminals since November 1, this significant stretch of National Route Number 2, providing access to the departments of the Grand South, has become a "No man's land" similar to Martissant since June 1, 2021.
