Haiti Earns Nomination for Prestigious Award at Panam Sports Awards 2023

The outstanding performances of Haitian athletes and the efforts made by the Haitian Olympic Committee (COH) at the Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile, held from October 20 to November 5, have not gone unnoticed by the officials of the Pan American Sports Organization (Panam Sports). This international organization brings together the 41 National Olympic Committees of the Americas. As evidence of this recognition, Haiti has been nominated for an award at the organization's traditional gala, scheduled for December 9 in Miami, Florida, USA.

After the Pan American Games in Santo Domingo in 2003, it took 20 years for Haiti to shine in these continental competitions. In Santiago, Chile, Haiti won three medals. In taekwondo, Ava Soon Lee secured the silver in the under 67 kg category, and in the over 67 kg category, Aliayh Shipman claimed the bronze. Adding to the achievement, in boxing, Cédrick Bélony Dulièpre won the bronze medal in the over 80 kg category.
