William O'Neill, the independent expert on the human rights situation in Haiti, attempted to articulate the atrocities experienced by the Haitian population on a daily basis during a press conference on Wednesday. "A country ravaged by violence, poverty, fear, and suffering," the UN expert seems to have found the words to describe the incredible reality of Haiti in recent years. One could add that it is a country abandoned to its fate.
