The Organization of Citizens for a New Haiti (OCNH) held an information and mobilization workshop on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, in Pétion-Ville regarding Haiti's Universal Periodic Review (UPR). The meeting brought together, among others, the Minister of Justice and Public Security, Patrick Pélissier, the Ombudsman, Jean Wilner Morin, his deputy, Me Amoce Auguste, the director general of the OPC, Jude Jean-Pierre, as well as representatives from the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (UNHCHR), the UNHCR, and civil society. During the discussions, they addressed several issues related to human rights, including the right to identity, access to justice, prolonged preventive detention, and prison conditions.<\/p>
