Port-au-Prince Prosecutor's Office Burglarized Again, Weapons Stolen

The Port-au-Prince Prosecutor's Office was once again burglarized by unidentified individuals on the night of May 24, 2023. No sensitive files were taken, revealed the government commissioner near the Court of First Instance, Attorney Jacques Lafontant, who continues to demand increased surveillance of the said court.

The series of burglaries at the Port-au-Prince Prosecutor's Office persists despite its relocation. Unidentified individuals broke into the Port-au-Prince Prosecutor's Office and stole four 9-millimeter firearms, confirmed Chief Prosecutor Jacques Lafontant in a phone interview with Le Nouvelliste. No files were taken as all the documents had been transferred to the investigative office, Lafontant disclosed.
