Haitian justice has not delivered the defendants, including 17 Colombians suspected in the assassination of former President Jovenel Moïse, to the American judicial authorities, stated Marthel Jean Claude of the Professional Association of Magistrates (APM).

Speaking on Magik9 on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, Marthel Jean Claude asserted: “It is a decision by the government to remove these defendants from Haitian justice. This decision does not involve the judiciary at all.” He recalled the denunciation notice published by the Superior Council of the Judicial Power (CSPJ) following the government's decision.
