Carlos Ruiz Massieu calls for political dialogue in favor of lasting peace

On the occasion of the International Day of Peace, this September 21, 2026, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Haiti, Carlos Ruiz Massieu, calls for advancing dialogue and the political process to build lasting peace. He also urges strengthening justice and the fight against impunity, supporting communities, and providing, especially to children and youth, perspectives and alternatives to violence. According to him, addressing the crisis primarily requires restoring security and state authority. Massieu finally encourages those resorting to violence to lay down their arms, free kidnapped individuals, and allow children to leave their ranks.<\/p>
