Dérac, a locality in the first communal section of Dumas, in Fort-Liberté, celebrated its patron saint festival dedicated to the Holy Cross on September 13 and 14. For several days, large crowds marked the religious, cultural, and musical activities. Pilgrims, residents of the region, and music lovers from various backgrounds converged on this border locality, giving the celebration a dimension that went beyond its purely religious setting.
As it does every year at this time, Dérac came alive to the rhythm of its patron saint festival.
