Mgr Jean-Pierre Sander Louis-Jean takes the reins of the diocese of Fort-Liberté

The Apostolic Nunciature in Haiti announced on Tuesday the appointment of Mgr Jean-Pierre Sander Louis-Jean as bishop of the diocese of Fort-Liberté. Until now an auxiliary bishop of Port-au-Prince, Mgr Louis-Jean succeeds Mgr Quesnel Alphonse, who was leading the diocese. In its statement, the Apostolic Nunciature invites priests, religious men and women, as well as lay faithful, to welcome this decision in a spirit of prayer, faith, and hope. It presents this appointment as a new expression of the pastoral care of the Holy Father for the Catholic Church in Haiti.<\/p>
