One week after the start of the school year, more than fifteen national schools in the Port-au-Prince metropolitan area still do not have premises to accommodate their students.

While the 2026-2027 school year officially began on September 7, several national schools in Port-au-Prince remain unable to reopen their doors. Anio Pierre, General Coordinator of the Association of Directors of National Schools of Haiti (REDIENAH), is issuing an SOS to officials at the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training (MENFP) so that a solution can be found quickly.
