The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Worship (MAEC), Raina Forbin, received on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at the Chancellery, a delegation from the Group of Eminent Persons (EPG) of CARICOM, on an official visit to Haiti. The delegation notably includes former Prime Ministers Kenny Anthony of Saint Lucia, Orette Bruce Golding of Jamaica, and Perry Christie of the Bahamas, as well as representatives from CARICOM, including Ambassador Colin Granderson, Deputy Secretary-General Elizabeth Solomon, and Anna-Lisa Jones-Reis, project officer at the CARICOM Secretariat. Ambassador Jerusa Ali, Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Bahamas, and the Chargé d’Affaires of the Bahamas, Julian Smith, are also part of the delegation. The discussions focused on the political and security situation in the country, the evolution of the electoral process, and the necessary conditions for holding “free, credible, inclusive, and secure elections.” The discussions also addressed CARICOM's support for the efforts made by Haitian authorities to foster an exit from the crisis.<\/p>
