EDH Cites Reduced E-Power Production as the Cause of Ongoing Blackouts

Electricity of Haiti (EDH) says the power outages observed over the past week in several neighborhoods of the Port-au-Prince metropolitan area are due to a drop in electricity production supplied by the E-Power plant. An official from the company, for his part, explained that this reduction in production is due to maintenance work on the engines that had been scheduled for a year.

In a public notice dated August 5, the state-owned company explained that, under the contractual commitments currently in force, E-Power is required to s
