Customs official Walter Gabellus was sworn in as the new Director General of the General Customs Administration (AGD) on Friday, July 3, 2026, during a ceremony held in the institution's conference room at the airport customs office. His appointment had been approved by the Council of Ministers the previous day, Thursday, July 2.

Formerly Deputy Director of the AGD's Research and Statistics Directorate, Walter Gabellus succeeds Gérald Remplais, who headed the customs administration for the past ten months.
