The Haitian government has declared three days of national mourning and announced that it will cover the “funeral expenses of the victims” following the tragedy that occurred at the Citadelle Henri, located in the commune of Milot, where 25 people lost their lives and several others were injured.
“[…] the Government has declared three days of national mourning across the entire territory, on Tuesday April 14, Wednesday April 15, and Thursday April 16, 2026,” the Prime Minister’s Office announced
