The La Paix University Hospital is among the few public hospitals still functioning in the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince. Since February 2024, demand across all its services has doubled. A new management model implemented by the current leadership, along with financial support from partners such as PAHO/WHO, has enabled the hospital to stay afloat. During a visit conducted on December 5, Le Nouvelliste observed a clean, air-conditioned hospital where patients—though very numerous—are being cared for.
