Post–February 7 Governance: CPT Members Reluctant to Transfer Full Authority to the Prime Minister

With less than two months to go before the February 7, 2026 deadline—the official end date of its mandate—the Transitional Presidential Council (TPC) acknowledges that its time is running out. However, its members do not wish to exit the political stage by handing over full executive power to Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé.

Two sources within the TPC told Le Nouvelliste that discussions are underway with a view to establishing, before February 7, a dual executive, combining the Prime Minister with
