The televised debate between the three main candidates for New York City mayor turned on Wednesday into a fierce duel between veteran Democrat Andrew Cuomo and his young challenger Zohran Mamdani, from the left wing of the party and the current favorite in the polls.
The third man in the debate, Republican Curtis Sliwa, appeared completely isolated by the other two, who barely spoke to him, reserving most of their attacks for each other. “You’ve marginalized me!” he even complained.
