In a packed National Stadium fully devoted to the home team, coach Reinaldo Rueda’s players scored three goals against a nonexistent Haitian defense.

They opened the scoring through Rigoberto Rivas (18th minute). Before the half-hour mark, Anthony Lozano (26th minute) made it 2–0, and just before halftime, Romell Quioto (40th minute) widened the gap for the Honduran national team, which displayed intensity, speed, and rhythm to outclass the Haitian side.
