Although in his speech last Thursday at the 80th UN General Assembly the coordinator of the Presidential Council spoke of progress in preparations for holding elections in the country, at no point in his address did Laurent Saint-Cyr mention the draft of a new Constitution or the referendum. The resolution authorizing the Gang Suppression Force adopted this week by the UN Security Council also refers to the necessity of organizing elections, without mentioning the new Constitution.
