On Monday, September 8, 2025, Royal Caribbean announced the postponement, until April 2026, of a possible return of its cruise ships to the port of call at Labadee.

The news fell like a hammer blow on the Greater North, which had been hoping for the return of the windfall brought by the hundreds of thousands of cruise passengers who usually, every year, visit the country’s only destination that offers this type of tourism.
