Sainte-Trinité School of Music: An Institution Full of Life

On Sunday, August 10, the Sainte-Trinité Music School (EMST) concluded its major 2025 music camp. Organized after a six-year interruption, this camp represents a successful gamble for the man who has led the EMST for the past two years, Father Ricot Geffrard. Away from the instruments and the public eye, we met him in his office on Avenue Christophe to discuss the school’s current affairs.

Father Ricot Geffrard holds a triple role: director of the EMST, of the Sainte-Trinité Philharmonic Orchestra, and of the Sainte-Trinité School. Between two meetings, he received us on Tuesday, August 12, in his office. No cassock or Roman collar for the man of God: a short-sleeved white shirt and black trousers. “In two years, as head of the EMST, I have taken an advanced trumpet class and a violin class. I am both director and student,” he confided with a loud laugh.
