What Will Happen with the CPT Before or After February 7, 2026?

It is not too early to ask the question: What will happen with the CPT before or after February 7, 2026? Just as there was no handbook or ready-made formula for replacing Ariel Henry in power, there is none for replacing the Presidential Transitional Council. Unable to restore security in the country in 15 months, the failure of this transition is acknowledged by nearly everyone — including CPT members themselves. If there is one point on which members of the sectors represented on the Council agree, it is that this body cannot survive beyond February 7, 2026. Some even believe it should be dismantled well before that date.
