Faculty of Applied Linguistics Recovers Site Pending Renovations

Occupied since March 9, 2024, by displaced persons from several neighborhoods of Port-au-Prince, the premises of the Faculty of Applied Linguistics (FLA) are once again under the control of the Rectorate of the State University of Haiti (RUEH). On Tuesday, July 29, 2025, during the government’s weekly program Les Mardis de la Nation, Jean Négot Bonheur Delva, Director General of the National Office for Migration (ONM), announced the official handover of the FLA to the RUEH.

Contacted by the newspaper, the rector of the UEH, Dieuseul Prédélus, confirmed that the FLA premises had indeed been returned to the rectorate on Tuesday, July 29. Asked about the state of the site after the evacuation, Mr. Prédélus stated that work is needed to make the buildings suitable for welcoming students again.
