Has the Three-Advisor Alliance Undermined Fritz Alphonse Jean?

From March 7 to today, Fritz Alphonse Jean, coordinator of the Transitional Presidential Council (CPT), has held only three Council of Ministers meetings, one of which lasted about 25 minutes. In open conflict with presidential advisors Louis Gérald Gilles, Smith Augustin, and Emmanuel Vertilaire, these members have obstructed Mr. Jean, preventing him from making important decisions during Cabinet meetings.

In one week, on August 7, Laurent St-Cyr will succeed Fritz Alphonse Jean as coordinator of the Transitional Presidential Council. While Edgard Leblanc Fils and Leslie Voltaire managed their terms as CPT coordinators without official conflicts with their fellow council members, Fritz Alphonse Jean’s tenure has thus far been marked by turbulence—clashing with Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, several ministers, and presidential advisors Louis Gérald Gilles, Smith Augustin, and Emmanuel Vertilaire.
