Catholic Bishops Oppose Timing of New Constitution Process

In a statement published on Wednesday, the Episcopal Conference of Haiti (CEH) denounced the atrocities committed by criminal groups against the population and the inaction of the current authorities. The Catholic bishops also took the opportunity to highlight the positive aspects and shortcomings identified in the draft of the new Constitution. Following these observations, the CEH affirmed that “the current moment is not suitable for the process of adopting a new Constitution.”
