A major drug seizure took place on Sunday, July 13, 2025, on the island of La Tortue, located off the coast of the Nord-Ouest department. During a joint operation conducted by the Departmental Unit for the Maintenance of Order (UDMO) and the Anti-Drug Trafficking Brigade (BLTS), authorities intercepted 49 bags containing a total of 1,045 kilograms of cocaine, divided into small packages.
