When Will the Constitutional Referendum and Elections Take Place?

Previously announced for May 11, 2025, by Presidential Advisor Leslie Voltaire during an interview with TV5 Monde last January, the constitutional referendum remains at a standstill. To date, the final draft has not been submitted to the executive, and security conditions have still not been restored, raising questions about the feasibility of holding the referendum this year.

When asked about the timing of the constitutional referendum and elections, Joseph André Gracien Jean, Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister in charge of electoral and constitutional affairs, expressed optimism regarding the possibility of carrying out these processes.
