DGI and AGD Sign Agreement to Strengthen Public Financial Systems

In the context of modernizing public financial systems in Haiti, the General Directorate of Taxes (DGI) and the General Administration of Customs (AGD), both technically decentralized services of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, have signed an interinstitutional memorandum of understanding to formalize their IT systems. This agreement, signed by Directors General Romial Petit (DGI) and Julcène Édouard (AGD), marks a turning point in the overhaul of the Haitian state's financial management.

This agreement is part of the broader public finance reform program launched in 2013 and strongly supported by the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The objective is to increase the efficiency of state revenue collection, combat fraud, and improve the transparency of tax and customs operations through interconnected IT systems.
