A Year On, MSS Draws Growing Criticism

Twelve months after the launch of the Multinational Security Support Mission (MSSM) in Haiti, the results have drawn numerous criticisms. Invited this Friday morning on the "Panel Magik" program on Magik9, security expert Prospère Charles did not mince words: for him, the mission led by Kenya is a “complete fiasco.”

“None of the set objectives have been achieved,” lamented Professor Charles. “Those of us on the ground are witnessing an increasingly chaotic situation.” While the MSSM claims to be satisfied with its actions, the assessment made by this security expert is quite different: insufficient personnel, inadequate equipment, lack of a strategic plan, and failed financing.
