Livres en Folie Marks Successful Return to Pétion-Ville

It was in 1995, 30 years ago, when Le Nouvelliste and Unibank launched Livres en Folie for the first time. Thirty years ago, it was held at the Promenade Complex in Pétion-Ville, which would go on to become the venue for what has established itself as the country’s largest literary event and the oldest recurring private event for the general public. In 2025, 30 years later, Livres en Folie welcomed a large crowd on Thursday, June 19, for its return to Pétion-Ville, this time at the premises of the Brothers of Christian Instruction.

The 31st edition of Livres en Folie was an undeniable success. After last year’s edition, which was held on the day of the Assumption, the book fair returned to its traditional date of Corpus Christi. On Thursday, June 19, the grand celebration of books opened its doors to the general public with the promise of an extraordinary day filled with author meet-and-greets and book buying.
