The CARICOM Eminent Persons, from the well-known “Caribbean Community” (CARICOM), are back to try to bring Haitian leaders back to the negotiating table at a time when it is becoming increasingly clear that security issues are not being properly addressed, that governance is at a standstill, and that the transition period is heading toward its end on February 7, 2026, without credible or viable proposals for constitutional reform, without any arrangements for a referendum—let alone for elections.
